Naeem Ashraf

A mechanical engineer by profession Naeem Ashraf retired from Army as a Colonel. Besides earning a master’s in Business Management he acquired BSc (Honors) in War Studies Leadership and Management. Since four decades Ashraf has been a keen reader of philosophy, fiction and poetry. After his retirement Ashraf started writing book reviews, articles and essays in national dailies. His flair for writing lead him to choose a comparatively hard path of fiction translation. His translated short stories book: Trespass was published by Sang e Meel Publications – Lahore in 2016. His second book; an anthology of short stories written by contemporary writers from Pakistan is in pipeline. He also has to his credit Urdu translation of Elif Shafak’s famous novel The Forty Rules of Love.He lives in Rawalpindi - Pakistan.
